Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leader and former lawmaker Maleeka Bokhari is in the limelight as some social media accounts, allegedly linked to PML-N, have been sharing an obscene video on many social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit, claiming that the lady in the video is the PTI’s former MNA.
It should be noted that Bokhari is a barrister with over 10 years of professional legal experience in the United Kingdom and Pakistan. She obtained her LLB Hons in 2007, and was awarded the Helena Kennedy QC Scholarship award for her academic achievements. She completed the Bar Vocational Course and was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a Queen Mother Scholar thereafter.
Maleeka Bokhari served as a member of National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 to January 2023. From September 2018 to April 2022, Bokhari also worked as Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice. She was selected as the World Economic Forum (WEF) ‘Young Global Leader’ for five years in 2021.
As per details, fake news has continuously been spread about alleged Bokhari’s video on other unreliable websites and social media platforms. Many unauthorized sources have claimed that it was Maleeka in the video. However, Ms Bokhari categorically denied that it’s the case and condemned the slander campaign she claimed being launched against her by PML-N social media team.
Ms Bokhari has also warned everyone who is spreading fake rumors about her. “Not one individual who shared and promoted this malicious, Filthy Campaign will be spared. As a lawyer, I know how to fight for myself, and I will not rest until each of them is behind bars. I made laws to protect women; ironic that I am now unsafe and facing this.” She said in a twitter message.
It has been reported that the lady in the video is said to be a model, available on Instagram as @soniya_sonu007. Reportedly, the viral video is about an Indian model, but many unverified sources have said that it was the Politician.

PTI has also confirmed that the video is fake. They said social media accounts are spreading fake propaganda and attributing a picture and video of an Indian model to Maleeka Bokhari.

Netizens have also condemned the despicable slander campaign against Ms Bokhari whose work in the human rights sphere has been widely applauded.
