ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will arrive in Islamabad today on an official visit to Pakistan, where he will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to reports, Iranian president will also thank Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for Pakistan’s mediation between Iran and the United States.
During the visit, the leadership of Pakistan and Iran will discuss promotion of bilateral relations. Matters related to mutual cooperation and enhancing high-level contacts will also be discussed.
Progress on economic cooperation agreements between Pakistan and Iran will be reviewed. Implementation speed of Pakistan-Iran agreements and future strategy will also be discussed.
Sources said the overall situation in the region will be discussed during the visit. Consultation on mutual cooperation and matters of common interest will also take place.
The meetings will also review possibilities for further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations.
