Iran has launched six missiles towards the US bases in Qatar, Axios reported citing an Israeli official.
Sounds of several explosions were heard over Qatari capital Doha, a Reuters witness said on Monday, following Tehran’s threats to retaliate against the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
Prior to the attack, a Western diplomat told Reuters on Monday that there has been a credible Iranian threat against the US-run al Udeid air base in Qatar since noon.
The air base in Qatar is the Middle East’s largest US base that houses around 10,000 troops.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially confirmed that it launched a retaliatory missile attack targeting the American al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reports.
