Iran fired a Haj Qassem supersonic missile loaded with 7 tons of explosives at Israel.
According to the Iranian news agency, Iran attacked important installations in Tel Aviv and the northern city of Haifa with ballistic, hypersonic missiles and drones in the early morning on Sunday. In the attack, several buildings were reduced to ruins.
Several Israelis were killed and dozens were injured in the Iranian attacks, and 35 people are feared to be missing in the Beit Yam area near Tel Aviv.
According to Iranian officials, energy infrastructure in the northern city of Haifa, as well as facilities that supply fuel to Israeli fighter jets, were also targeted.
Meanwhile, Yemeni Houthi forces say that they, in collaboration with Iran, targeted Israel with several ballistic missiles. On the other hand, sirens were sounded in northern areas of Israel after Iran’s retaliatory attacks.
Moreover, the Israeli army said Sunday that a soldier had been killed in battle in Gaza one day earlier, as its war with Palestinian militant group Hamas enters its 20th month.
“Noam Shemesh, aged 21 from Jerusalem… fell during combat in the southern Gaza Strip,” the army said in a statement. About 430 soldiers have been killed since Israel’s ground operation in Gaza began on October 27, 2023.
