KARACHI: The fourth death anniversary of Intizar Husain being observed on Sunday, a major figure in the field of Urdu literature, people from the literary world gathered at the Arts Council on to pay homage to his art and life.
Four years ago, Intizar Hussain died at the age of 92 in Lahore. He has received considerable acclaim in Pakistan as well as globally in terms of his work in the field of Urdu literature.

The late Intizar Hussain is regarded as one of the most important writers of Urdu literature. He born on December 21, 1923, in the Buland city of Meerut district, Intizar Hussain graduated from Meerut College.
After the establishment of Pakistan in 1947, Intizar Hussain came to Lahore where he did Masters in Urdu from Punjab University and later made a name in the field of journalism. He wrote novels and poetry for short stories in Urdu, as well as literary columns for magazines, newspapers.
