It’s been five years since the last Insidious movie was released. Now the fifth entry, ‘Insidious: The Red Door’ will be released across the cinema tomorrow.
If you’re unfamiliar with these films and curious about what you might have missed; here is everything you need to know about ‘Insidious: The Red Door’:
What is ‘Insidious’ about?
INSIDIOUS is the terrifying story of a family who, shortly after moving, discovers that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma.
Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to realize that it was not their house that was haunted. The movie is solely based on how the family tries to save their members from evil.

The films in the franchise include Insidious (2010), Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), Insidious: The Last Key (2018), and Insidious: The Red Door (2023).
Insidious: The Red Door
Insidious: The Red Door will be the “final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga.” Insidious: The Red Door has the Lamberts all returning, with Patrick Wilson not only reprising his role as Josh but also taking over as director. Son Dalton (played again by Ty Simpkins, now a handsome young man) is heading off for college, seemingly majoring in art and pouring what disturbing details he can remember from his childhood into his paintings.
Judging by the trailer and IMDb cast list, it doesn’t appear that Tucker and Specs will be back and, while Lin Shaye is returning, Elise’s role will likely be rather limited given that she’s been dead for 10 years in the chronology.
Cast
Ty Simpkins as Dalton Lambert
Patrick Wilson as Josh Lambert
Rose Byrne as Renai Lambert
Andrew Astor as Foster Lambert
Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier
Additionally, Hiam Abbass, Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Jarquez McClendon appear in the film in undisclosed roles.
