ISLAMABAD: JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman has questioned why no action has been taken against the ruling PTI for several years even when people have been protesting against ‘injustice’.
Speaking after a PDM’s meeting in Islamabad, Rehman said, on one hand, a decision was issued against Nawaz Sharif within six months, while today a case was pending against a “selected” prime minister for six years. “What kind of justice is this?” he asked.
“Prime Minister Imran took the mother of NROs to create political instability in Pakistan and used funds collected in the name of charity for personal business and spreading chaos,” he claimed.
The JUI-F chief said, “We will demand the ECP to immediately give a decision on the crime which has been accepted,” he said, adding that further delays were giving rise to doubts and suspicions.
Referring to the protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office, he said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) scheduled march will be a protest and not an attack.
“We are democratic people and followed the Constitution and law. We want the freedom of democracy in the country because that is the demand of the Constitution and the law,” he added.
Fazlur Rehman also accused the Prime Minister of illegally collecting millions of rupees from around the world in the name of his party and using them for political disruption and election rigging.
Talking about PDM’s anti-government plan, he said that today’s meeting had given final shape to a schedule for protests and rallies across the country, announcing that the PDM leadership will participate in an “Israel Na Manzoor” million march.
On February 5, he said, the day will be observed to express solidarity with Kashmiris, while simultaneously a “big rally” will be held in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh where Kashmir’s political parties have also been invited.
