The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were announced at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Friday. The official award ceremony, which will celebrate the best Indian films of 2022, is scheduled to take place on a future date, where the President will honor the winners. This year’s jury was led by Rahul Rawail as the Chairperson of the Feature Film Jury, Nila Madhab Panda as Chairperson of the Non-Feature Film Jury, and Gangadhar Mudalair as Chairperson of the Best Writing on Cinema Jury.
The Malayalam-language drama Aattam took home the prestigious Best Feature Film award. Rishab Shetty won the Best Actor award for his role in Kantara, while the Best Actress award was jointly awarded to Nithya Menen for Tiruchitrabalam and Manasi Parekh for Kutch Express. Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 emerged as the most awarded film of the night with a total of four honors.
