ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has asserted that the Indian occupation forces have been spreading fear among the unarmed citizens of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IIOK) through continuous oppression.
According to a statement issued today (Monday), the foreign minister said that young Kashmiris were being presented as terrorists and fake cases are registered against them to misguide the world.
“Unarmed Kashmiri youth are being subjected to state terrorism in fake encounters,” he said while referring to the recent case filed against an Indian army captain for killing three local labourers and calling them ‘militants’.
In a charge sheet filed in a local court, the district police informed that the captain had staged a gunfight in South region of the disputed valley on July 8 to make it appear like a clash with ‘militants’.
In this regard, Shah Mehmood underscored that the world has understood the Indian designs, and India’s grip over the held valley is weakening. Meanwhile, Pakistan also expressed deep concern over the continued incarceration and deteriorating health conditions of Kashmiri leaders.
“These Kashmiri leaders have been illegally arrested over malicious, false and fabricated charges by the Indian Government through invoking draconian laws promulgated in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK),” the foreign office added.
