India summons Iranian envoy over remarks by Iran’s FM on Delhi riots

India has summoned Iranian Ambassador to country – Ali Chegeni – to seek clarification over the remarks made by Iran’s foreign minister over Delhi violence.
According to Indian media, New Delhi termed the remarks unacceptable and uncalled for. A strong was also lodged over him against the remarks.
Indian media claimed that the foreign ministry issued demarche to Iranian Ambassador and expressed dismay and disappointment over the remarks.
New Delhi also advised Iran to steer clear of matters internal to India, Indian media said.
On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Zarif strongly condemns the wave of organized violence against Indian Muslims.
Javed Zarif took to Twitter and said, “For centuries, Iran has been a friend of India. We urge Indian authorities to ensure the wellbeing of all Indians and not let senseless thuggery prevail.”
