Muslims worldwide are observing Eid ul-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) obedience to God by his willingness to sacrifice his son, eventually substituted with a sheep. This festival follows the annual Hajj pilgrimage, and traditionally includes the ritual slaughter of sheep, with a portion of the meat distributed to the less fortunate.
This year’s celebrations are juxtaposed against the backdrop of Israel’s conflict with Gaza, intensifying tensions across the Middle East and raising concerns about regional stability. From Moscow to Basra to Khan Yunis, Muslims are marking this auspicious day in various ways.
