Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has expressed frustration over the lack of response from Pakistani courts and threatened to take his legal cases to international platforms.
Speaking through his sister, Aleema Khan, outside Adiala Jail, the PTI leader highlighted his attempts to seek justice from domestic courts, which he claims have been unresponsive.
“We approached the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court, but no one is willing to listen to us,” Aleema Khan quoted Imran Khan, emphasizing the dire situation. “We have no other option but to take our cases to international platforms,” she added.
Aleema Khan also raised concerns about the restrictions on visiting Imran Khan. She revealed that today the family was stopped from entering the jail and had to walk to the inner gate. “Earlier, we had permission to visit him, but now access has been denied,” she explained. “This is torture, and even his personal doctor is not being allowed to meet him. They continue to trouble him even when he requests basic things.”
In response to mounting challenges, Aleema Khan reiterated Imran Khan’s statement, “We went to the Islamabad High Court, we went to the Supreme Court, but no one is willing to listen. We have no other option left. Pakistan is a signatory to the United Nations, and we will approach all international institutions for justice.”
As Imran Khan remains incarcerated in Adiala Jail, questions about the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have arisen. Addressing this, Aliya Khan reassured the media that the entire nation stands with her brother. “Just as Imran Khan faced legal battles while in jail for over a year, he will continue to refuse any deals and will maintain his dignity,” she stated.
Aliya Khan emphasized that even within the PTI ranks, leaders like Salman Akram Raja are executing Imran Khan’s directives, with the PTI chief personally guiding them via his Twitter account.
