ISLAMABAD: In an apparent bid to obtain relief from the legal front, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday seeking the suspension of all actions taken against him in the federal capital and the summon notices.
As per the details gathered by MM News, there are some 29 cases registered against Imran Khan in Islamabad over the years by both the police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
These cases involve various charges, including terrorism, obstructing police officers in carrying out their tasks, attacks on police, wounding officers, and inciting people to violence.
In his petition, Imran Khan has also sought details of cases filed against him in different police stations in Islamabad and other parts of the country. He argued that several cases of the same nature of charge have been lodged against him and that his basic rights are being violated by the criminal law being used for political advantage. The petition further stated that the cases have been registered under the terrorism sections, and his basic rights are being trampled by making wrong use of the anti-terrorism law.
