ISLAMABAD: Illegal construction continued in the federal capital during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) being complacent and unable to take any action.
The Enforcement Directorate of the CDA has been unable to act on directives to stop the illegal constructions which have mushroomed across the city. When asked about the lack of implementation, the enforcement staff blamed the failure of other institutions.
CDA Chairman has directed enforcement staff to remain vigilant during Eid break and monitor anti-encroachment activities. However, the staff members have refused to implement orders to give leverage to the land mafia.
Illegal construction and encroachment continue unabated in Islamabad, as construction material remain piled on the streets. CDA officers remained absent and have not taken any concrete action.
