Pakistan is a country that is full of talent, the country has a large number of youths who are endowed with natural abilities but due to limited resources they cannot take advantage of this talent.
One such name is Ikram Ullah, a shoe repairer, who is mending shoes in the narrow streets of Karachi. God has blessed him with a melodious vocal but due to poverty he is not able to show and present this talent to the world.
MM News arranged a meeting with Ikram Ullah during which this talented youth shared his story with us.
He told MM News that he has been working as a cobbler since the age of 8 and has been doing this job for about 14 years.
Talking about his business, he said “thanks to Allah, I am doing well. Sometimes I earned Rs.1000 per day and sometimes less than it.”
Talking about his talent of singing he said that he was fond of listening to music since his childhood and often used to hum, but he realized his talent when he wrote some sad poetry in Urdu after the death of his mother in 2002 and song it in front of people. “The people liked it very much and after that they started requesting me sometime to sing,” he added.
Ikram Ullah revealed that once he tried to give an audition, but at that time his economic conditions were not good and it need some money, so he gave up his hobby.
Talking about the future, he said that if ever he succeeds in making a place in the field of music, he will definitely work for the welfare of the poor.
