Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for China today at the invitation of the Chinese leadership. Apart from the Winter Olympics, all aspects of bilateral relations will be reviewed in the meetings between PM Imran Khan and the Chinese leadership.
Special attention will be paid to strong trade and economic cooperation, including CPEC, the leadership of the two countries will also discuss important regional and international issues and MoUs and agreements will be signed.
Pakistan’s preparation
If we look, the main purpose of this visit is the Winter Olympics, but if we look at the hidden issues of this visit, then the prime minister has left for China after a full briefing. The Pakistani leadership has also made preparations for the visit to China with regard to important trade agreements and loans. It is also expected that talks will be held during the visit for a $3 billion loan from China, while efforts will also be made to obtain a $1 billion loan from Russia and a $1 billion loan from Kazakhstan.
Participation of world leaders
The highlight of the visit is that in addition to the heads and representatives of the SCO member states, members of other countries of the world will also be present. Although athletes from the United States and its allies are participating in the Winter Olympics, the US and its allies have boycotted the event, citing human rights abuses against Uighur Muslims as the main reason.
China’s economic development
China has emerged as the world’s largest manufacturer since 2010 and in 2013, it became one of the largest manufacturing countries. China’s economy is now over $17.6 trillion and that is why the US fears China’s economic growth, while China, on the other hand, is gradually increasing its military strength.
The United States is pushing hard to stem China’s growing economy, and to that end, the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom have signed an agreement called Aukus alliance under which nuclear submarines have been sent to Australia and sent to the Atlantic. Other technologies have also been transferred to Australia.
CPEC and China’s trade
The whole world is aware of the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project (CPEC). China also faces a number of threats from the United States and its allies in the use of sea lanes.
At present, China has to travel at sea for about 6 to 8 weeks, but the same voyage has been completed for 7 days without any danger through CPEC and instead of the 16,000 km sea voyage through CPEC, the journey is 5,000 km.
Pakistani leadership visits China
The friendship between Pakistan and China is very strong and deep. Pakistan sided with China by boycotting the conference in Taiwan. Pakistan and China are strong voices of each other in every forum of the world and have stood the test of time.
Due to its geographically important Pakistan, the United States and its allies have often faced difficulties in confronting China, and in such a situation, China’s strengthening of Pakistan economically and in every field is a strategic part of China’s strategy.
