Hope might be broken

Ambassador Dr. Jamil by Ambassador Dr. Jamil
February 12, 2023

The situation in various parts of Pakistan is touching the limits of deplorable and instead of any hope of improvement, with each passing day, the situation is leading to chaos, tension, political strife and division instead of improvement.

In such a situation, when the black clouds of economic disaster are hovering over our heads and the IMF gun is placed on our shoulders and when the enemies are looking for any of our weaknesses so that they can get an opportunity and become vultures and come to pluck our plants. In these situations, our internal problems can be a precursor to a major disaster.

Even before the meeting of the Human Rights Council, our eternal enemy India has revealed its nefarious intentions to re-examine the human rights violations in Pakistan and India is also fighting for the amendment of the Indus Basin Agreement and Iran has also sent a notice of 18 billion dollars.

At present, the situation in the country is that people do not have bread to eat and the irony is that the politicians are in conflict with each other.

The hope of people who want to see country improving, inflation rapidly decreasing and the uplift of the standard of the masses are disappointed.

As far as Jail Bharo movement is concerned, people are allowed to protest peacefully under Article 15 and 16 of the Constitution, but the reality is that when people come to the streets in large numbers, then the possibility of compliance with Article 15 and 16 is lower.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has announced to block the roads while moving towards the Jail Bharo movement and when the roads are closed and the supply points are closed, there will be burning and encirclement on the roads and sticks and stones will also be thrown.

The most worrisome aspect here is that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has once again become active and despite the continuous attacks in Pakistan for the past few weeks, if street arson starts, TTP will be benefited from it, which will harm the state of Pakistan.

Even if Imran Khan claims to make the field favorable for Nawaz Sharif, then the continuity in Pakistan’s politics has been going on for decades that as many cases as possible are made against the opposing parties by the ascendant party.

In the past, Pakistan Muslim League-N and PTI also nurtured this tradition, but the number of political cases and prisoners remained very low in number during the regime of the Pakistan People’s Party, but in every era, whether it was a political era or a dictatorship, political opponents were put to the wall.

Pakistan is the only country where the ruling Prime Minister opnely declares that he will hang opponents with his own hands, put them in jails and give punishments.

Imran Khan and other political leaders are right to say that minus one is being tried but this is also nothing new, here the question arises whether Nawaz Sharif has not been minus, or whether Yusuf Raza Geelani has not been minus. The solution to all the problems lies in the observance of the constitution in the country, but unfortunately, politicians are reluctant to observe the constitution itself.

The conditions of the country are becoming very alarming, the graph of hunger and poverty is touching its limits and the oil reserves are decreasing and looking at the situation, the fears of the implementation of an economic emergency are gaining strength and thus it is felt that the country Elections can be postponed for one year under economic emergency.

Even if it is accepted that postponing the election during the economic emergency is a constitutional tactic, but the results of using the constitution for personal purposes are never good.

The actions and movements of our politicians are creating a new history of the country, but there is a need to be careful while compiling the history, because the history that is taking place at this time, despite a few restrictions, cannot be written in golden letters.
