LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has removed its charges against former president Pervez Musharraf’s plea in his reserved verdict in the high treason case.
In the petition filed by the former president, he requested the LHC to stop the special court from announcing its reserved verdict in the high treason case against him.
In today’s hearing, LHC’s Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi heard the petition.

He sought replies from the federal government and the Ministry of Interior 28th November. The judge also directed the federal government and related officials to appear before the court on the same date.
The special court was set to announce the reserved verdict on 28th November for high treason. However, the interior ministry on Monday had submitted a plea, stating that the accusers to be tried with Pervaiz Musharraf, were not included in the trial.
The former president has also appealed to the court that an independent medical board is formed to manage the health of the former president.

On Monday, the court had raised objections against the petition and directed the former president’s lawyer to submit a detailed response today.
The LHC had questioned whether the plea falls under its jurisdiction as Musharraf is a resident of Islamabad.
General Musharraf was booked in a treason case in December 2013. He was indicted on 31st March 2014 in the case of suspending the Constitution by proclamation of emergency on 3rd November 2007. He left for Dubai in 2016 to seek medical treatment and hasn’t returned since.
