The Punjab Livestock Card is an interest-free e-credit scheme launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to support livestock farmers by providing easy access to financing for animal feed and related inputs.
The initiative aims to improve livestock productivity while reducing the financial burden on small and medium-scale farmers.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers can obtain interest-free loans of up to Rs270,000 to purchase animal feed (Wanda), silage, and mineral mixtures.
The loan is repayable within 90 days to four months, with a short grace period. Beneficiaries also receive free animal tagging, artificial insemination services, and access to livestock quality testing facilities.
Eligibility Rules
- Must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
- Mobile SIM must be active and registered directly under the applicant’s CNIC.
- Must own between 5 to 20 cattle or male calves, and be registered in the department’s SPMS-9211 tracking system.
- Must have a clean record with no defaults on prior government assistance programs.
How to Apply
Farmers can apply by sending an SMS in the format PLC <space> CNIC number to 8070 or by visiting the nearest government veterinary hospital or Livestock Department facilitation centre. Assistance and application tracking are available through the 08000-9211 helpline.
