Pakistani pilgrims undertaking the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year are set to collectively spend approximately 9.548 billion Pakistani Rupees (PKR) on sacrificial animals, an amount equivalent to 120.931 million Saudi Riyals (SAR).
This significant expenditure underscores the financial commitment involved in fulfilling the religious obligation for the nearly 180,000 Pakistani nationals performing Hajj.
According to recently disclosed figures, a total of 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims will participate in the sacrifice ritual during Hajj. Each pilgrim is mandated to sacrifice at least one animal, with the individual cost for this ritual set at 720 Saudi Riyals, which translates to approximately 53,000 Pakistani Rupees per person.
The overall cost is distributed across pilgrims performing Hajj under both government and private schemes.
Pilgrims under the government Hajj scheme, numbering 119,210, will account for a substantial portion of the total expenditure, with their collective sacrifice cost reaching 6.341 billion PKR. This amount is equivalent to approximately 80.278 million Saudi Riyals.
Meanwhile, the 60,000 pilgrims utilizing private Hajj schemes will contribute 3.192 billion PKR to the sacrifice expenses, amounting to 40.32 million Saudi Riyals. The total sacrifice cost for all Pakistani pilgrims, combining both government and private schemes, is approximately 9.533 billion PKR, or 120.598 million SAR.
