Gunah, a crime thriller drama concluded its sixth and last episode with a mind-blowing yet bold plot twist.
Featuring Sarmad Khoosat and Saba Qamar in the leading roles, the six-episode limited mini-series features Rabia Butt, Juggan Kazim, Faiz Chauhan, and Usman Chaudhry.
SPOILERS ALERT!
Let’s talk about the unpredictable utter shock viewers got in the last few minutes of the drama.
This ending was not at all half-baked as the series from the start showed how the drama revolves around extramarital affairs and honour killing but the drama despite being a Pakistani drama boldly showed a sensitive and considered taboo topic of the society; homosexuality.
The scene where the whole family was busy burying Ahmed and Gul Noor, played by Juggan Kazim seemed confusing when Noor kept on looking upwards and it confused us as viewers why was she looking at the sky on the verge of being killed at any time.

The last few plot-twisting minutes show how Noor and Malik Hayat’s IQ son Umer is obsessed or can be said he has a crush on his teacher Ahmed and in order to express his feelings he writes him a cute letter confessing his love for it. This is what both mother and teacher discuss in the room when everyone barges in and the rest we all had an idea of.
Now let’s rewind and recall the moment Noor looks at the sky and quietly accepts her fate of being buried alive. It was his son she was looking at who was witnessing all the heinous acts from the terrace of the house; she stayed quiet in order to save her son; inshort a marvelous ending.
A few scenes which as a viewer were highly illogical:
Noor’s parents who used to blindly love Noor all suddenly stop using their brains and turn a blind eye when Noor needs them the most.
Malik Hayat, played by Sarmad Khoosat being an evil genius of the place gets easily manipulated by Gul Meher, played by Saba Qamar.
The entire development could have been much more convincing if a little more on this angle had been given more screen time.
In the last episode, the way children were casually witnessing her mother being buried was quite disturbing.
Overall, this Pakisatni drama focuses on the social issues that people in our society face every day. an extramarital affair, honour killing, and homosexuality definitely need an OTT release.
