LAHORE: On the occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal a prestigious ceremony has taken place at Mazar-e-Iqbal to change the guards, with the aim of paying homage to the Eastern poet.
A well-armed contingent of Pakistan Navy saluted Allama Iqbal in the presence of a special guest, Station Commander Lahore, Commodore Amir Iqbal Khan, at the prestigious ceremony of changing guards at Mazar-e-Iqbal.
Moreover, Commodore Amir Iqbal Khan inspected the troops of the Pakistan Navy and offered Fateha and a wreath at the Shrine of the Poet of the East and wrote comments in the guest book.

Allama Iqbal’s thought and philosophy for the establishment of a separate Muslim country of Pakistan was very important in the sense that, he presented the idea of a separate state for muslims during his ‘Allahabad sermon’ and revived the muslim liberation movement with his poetry.
Meanwhile, wherever Urdu and Persian poetry is read and understood, Allama Iqbal would be remembered today and Iqbal scholars are organizing various events on his thought and philosophy. During which the thoughts of the poet of the East and Philosophy will be highlighted.
