KARACHI: The provincial government has introduced a free air ambulance service for the public through the Local Government Council Association.
During the signing ceremony on Monday for the contract with Airlift Sales and Services Limited (ASSL), Ministers of Energy Nasir Hussain Shah and Local Government Saeed Ghani highlighted the importance of this initiative. They emphasized that the air ambulance service would be crucial for transporting patients from Ghotki, Sukkur, and Khairpur to Karachi.
The Local Government Minister also mentioned that an agreement would soon be formalized between ASSL Aviation and the three local councils.
He pointed out the significant challenge of transporting patients from cities located six hours away from Karachi, noting, “With the launch of the air ambulance service, we will now be able to save precious lives.”
Minister Nasir Shah added that the service would eventually expand to Hyderabad, Thar, Nawabshah, and Larkana, with plans to operate the air ambulance at airstrips in Badin.
