ISLAMABAD: The outgoing caretaker government has jacked up the petrol price by Rs13.55 for the next fortnight.
A statement states that the price of petrol has increased by Rs 13.55 per liter to Rs 272.89 per liter. In addition, the price of diesel has increased by Rs 2.75 per liter, to Rs 278.96. On the other hand, kerosene has become slightly less expensive per liter—by 24 paisa. Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the interim prime minister, approved it.
The latest price hike comes in light of ongoing tensions in Middle East as Israel continues to press war on Gaza.
Additionally, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had already declared a rise in LPG costs. The price of LPG has increased by Rs 17 to Rs 257.60 per kilogram, according to the latest statement from OGRA.
After the modification, a household LPG cylinder would now cost Rs 3,400. The month of February 2024 will see the implementation of these updated rates.
Amidst shifting global oil prices and economic factors, pricing modifications have been agreed. Both companies and consumers are preparing for the effects of these hikes, which are anticipated to have an impact on everyday spending and transportation costs.
