LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Pervez Rasheed has said that the incumbent government was sending its political opponents to jail.
Pervez Rasheed along with his party companion Uzma Bukhari was earlier summoned by the FIA in the same case where Bukhari skipped the investigation and accused herself of it due to her absence in the country.
He was bought in the department in alert security by which he was surprised at that why there was so much security set up for him only.
After recording his statement, Rasheed spoke to the reporters that FIA was being used as a tool against political opponents, it was the ruling party who was sending its political opponents to jail.
According to him, the work was being taken from the FIA which does not fall under its jurisdiction.
In the Al-Azizia corruption case in December 2018, the accountability court judge Arshad Malik had sentenced Nawaz to seven years in prison and fined Rs1.5 billion and $25 million.

In July this year, during a press conference in June, PML-N leader Maryan Nawaz showed videos in which Judge Malik told another person that he was pressured into convicting former premier Nawaz Sharif in the Al Azizia mills case. The judge, however, denied the allegations.
Judge Arshad Malik, who sentenced Nawaz Sharif to jail, had denied the allegations that the judge was blackmailed into convicting Nawaz without any evidence.
