LAHORE:  Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed has asserted that the government has planned to privatise nine train services.
Addressing a press conference, Sheikh Rasheed has said that anyone from the private sector would run their trains without any remuneration.
He said that the government was trying to make Pakistan Railways a profitable institution, adding that 1885 kilometers long new track would be laid from Peshawar to Karachi.
Sheikh Rasheed has claimed that revenue of Pakistan Railways has increased as compared to previous year.
Commenting on ML-1 project he said, “I took charge of the railways’ minister for the sake of ML-1,” adding that ML-1 was his mission of life.
The minister assured that Prime Minister Imran Khan would soon expose the culprits responsible for creating wheat and sugar crisis, and would take strict action against them.
Referring to LNG case against PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Mr Rasheed said, “Let him say what he wants, the verdict in the LNG case is soon.”
Mr Rasheed further said he considered that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should be strengthened.
