According to details, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in a statement that after seeing the statement of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the decision to the contrary applies to all illegally staying foreigners.
In the statement, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said, “The government is not considering any country or citizenship in the process of implementing the plan, we have taken this decision keeping Pakistan’s sovereignty and international principles in front.”
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that all registered foreigners living in Pakistan, irrespective of their nationality, are excluded from its purview. “Pakistan has been hosting millions of Afghan brothers and sisters for 40 years,” he said.
The Foreign Office said that the international community should implement joint efforts on a priority basis to protect the refugees. Pakistan will also continue to work with international partners for the betterment and rehabilitation of refugees.
