ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday approved up to 30 percent reduction in the prices of 20 essential medicines.
The decision was made during a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad that was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Abdul Qadir Patel, the minister of health, declared that the cabinet had also agreed to set pricing for 54 new medications. He said that the treatment of cancer and other chronic diseases is tied to these medications.
“The incumbent government is committed to providing relief to the people through effective measure,” he said, adding that ensuring the availability of medicines is govt’s top priority.
