KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan saw massive gain of Rs4000 on Thursday amid the rising value of US dollar against the rupee.
The price of gold (24 carats) gained Rs4000 per tola and Rs34296 per 10 grams to settle at Rs208,000 and Rs178,326, respectively, according to data released by All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).
In the international market, the per-ounce price of gold decreased by $13 to close at $1,959.
The gold rate has been volatile in Pakistan recently amid continued political and economic uncertainty, and high inflation. People prefer to buy this precious commodity in such times as a safe investment and a hedge.
