Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Saturday, in line with gains in the international bullion market.
According to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold increased by Rs5,700 per tola, reaching Rs482,936.
The price of 10-gram gold also climbed by Rs4,972, reaching Rs414,039.
In the international market, gold prices increased by $57, reaching $4,604 per ounce, including a $20 premium.
On Friday, gold had closed at Rs477,136 per tola after registering an increase of Rs5,200.
Investors continued to closely monitor developments in the Middle East as Iran and the United States remained at odds over efforts to reach a permanent end to the conflict in the Gulf.
The United States and Iran exchanged defiant messages ahead of Monday’s scheduled announcement of new US economic sanctions that could affect the Islamic Republic and its key trading partners, including China.
