Gold prices in Pakistan rose on Thursday, following an uptick in the global market rates. The precious metal reached Rs228,550 per tola after climbing by Rs250 throughout the day.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold stood at Rs195,945, marking a Rs215 increase from previous rates.
Wednesday saw a decline in gold prices in Pakistan, dropping by Rs1,800 per tola.
The international gold rate, with a $20 premium, reached $2,188 per ounce on Thursday, reflecting a $9 increase in the global market, as reported by APGJSA.
Meanwhile, silver rates remained steady at Rs2,600 per tola.
Moreover, the rupee saw marginal improvement against the US dollar, appreciating 2 paisa in the inter-bank market on Thursday.
At close, the local unit settled at 278.77, up by 0.007% compared to Wednesday’s close of 278.79 against the greenback, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
