Gold price in Pakistan witnessed continuous surge as the local price of price per tola of gold increased by Rs1,600, reaching Rs285,000 on Tuesday, reflecting an upward trend in international markets.
Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams rose by Rs1,372 to Rs244,342, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Monday, the price of gold had dropped by Rs900, settling at Rs283,400. Internationally, gold prices rose on Tuesday as well, with the APGJSA reporting an increase to $2,755 per ounce (including a $20 premium), up by $16 during the day.
Silver prices, meanwhile, remained steady at Rs3,350 per tola.
Last week, gold reached an all-time high of Rs285,400 per tola. The recent spike in prices is driven by heightened demand for safe-haven assets amid ongoing Middle Eastern conflicts and uncertainty surrounding the upcoming US election.
