Fuel prices and the competent

Riyatullah Farooqui by Riyatullah Farooqui
May 30, 2022

When those who were bored with the old forms were working to launch new face in Pakistan, we repeatedly wrote that the form you are trying to bring is not the result of any coercive court decision but the result of personal shortcomings. Naturally “incompetent”. So don’t make this mistake, otherwise the country will face one of the most serious problems in its history. But no one listened and an incompetent was imposed on the country. Imperialists had claimed during the PML-N era that the econmic situation is not good if it is not bad.  All of them were right, because they were calling Pakistan a fast emerging economy and of course, seeing the results of the government’s economic policy and its effects, they had to appeal to the local media to do “positive reporting” for six months.

We know that when the performance of a government is bad, its condition in the election year is out of fear that it will face defeat in the coming elections. But with regard to the N-League government that came to power in 2013, the general impression in 2017 was that it would win in 2018. The public perception was formed later as a result of performance. The sit-ins and Panama Papers diggers had predicted in 2014 that the policies of the PML-N-aligned government would save the country from serious problems. The party will succeed in forming a government by being elected twice in a row.
And the post-2018 term will be even better than the current one. It was a nightmare for the Establishment, which is convinced to weaken the democratic system in the country under the established policy. It was the result of this “fear” that the trenches of the sit-in and then the Panama scandal were dug.

The way the Establishment danced during the Panama Scandal and then the attempts to break the Nawaz League before the election was no secret. For the first time in history, the Establishment was tearing seven curtains and revealing everything. Despite this, it could have convicted Nawaz Sharif through a controversial decision but could not ensure the defeat of PML-N in the 2018 elections. On the contrary, it gained more public sympathy. When the election came, the results were discouraging for the establishment.

Polling went smoothly throughout the day. No large-scale disturbances were reported. The chaos began when it came time to count the votes. Then RTS also sat down. Polling agents were also evicted. The election results form was also not released. And by releasing the results of choice, the nation was told, “Congratulations boy.” But even the results released were not enough to win him over. So Jahangir Tareen’s plane and an unknown phone came into action and a coalition government was formed.

But according to our words, that government proved to be the most failed government in the history of Pakistan. The question is, why did the government fail? The reason is quite clear, and that is that Khan Sahib was told that you don’t have to take any tension. By managing the 2023 election more efficiently, your rule will be extended to 10 years. The man who knows that he will rule for ten years and it will do so not through a public vote but with the help of electoral “management” so why does it need to show efficiency? Sometimes it had to cross the borders of Germany and Japan, sometimes he created 12 seasons in a year. This was a sign of incompetence. Even in their privatization policy, only buffaloes and old vehicles were auctioned. But it was clear that Khan Sahib had been told that he had to focus on one task and work tirelessly in this regard. what work? The task of destroying the Nawaz League. That is, you have to achieve the goals that we have not been able to achieve in the last 35 years. And so began the “I will not give up” game. The economy was not one of their priorities. If one left the monopoly economic policy, he would not be able to keep even one finance minister.

If these most incompetent people have left the government, then they have left behind the confusion that according to the agreement they have made with the IMF, the price of petrol in the country at that time was 240 rupees per liter. The PDM government that came to power as a result of the in-house reshuffle is trying to revise the agreement with the IMF, but the devastation is so great that if it does not raise the price of petrol, the country bankruptcy is certain. The Establishment’s understanding was that since Imran Khan is very popular among Pakistanis abroad, he would come to power. There would be a flood of dollars, euros and dirhams and riyals from these Pakistanis. A columnist with the characteristic of a rain frog had predicted that first there would be a drizzle of dollars and then there would be a decrease and there would be such a rain of dollars that Subhan Allah.

Overseas Pakistanis were not supposed to send dollars in huge numbers and had not sent either. This dream of dollars has been embraced not only by the Establishment and its puppets but also by Pakistan. Now not only the Establishment but every citizen of the country is attached to the hope of the dollars that are to come from the IMF. And those subject to the price of petrol. To get out of the state of emergency, the present government has reluctantly increased the price of petrol by Rs.30 per litre. This will send inflation skyrocketing, which is why a relief package has been announced to save the poor. This is a terrible situation that the Establishment and its puppets have brought to the country. But there is also partial satisfaction. In a terrible situation, the eyes look for someone who can rescue. Who is indeed ineligible as a result of a so-called court decision but is competent in terms of performance. Just compare dollar and petrol prices to see who is eligible and who is ineligible.

When the PPP came to power in 2008, the price of dollar was Rs 70 and the price of petrol was Rs 62 per litre. When that PPP government left power in 2013, the price of dollar was Rs 115 while the price of petrol was Rs 103. As if complete incompetence. The PML-N came to power the same rate and remained in government for five years. When that government left, the dollar was Rs 110 and petrol Rs 86 per litre. It is as if these two things were left behind at a rate lower than the rate he inherited in 2013. Where do dollar and petrol prices stand today as a result of the Establishment and its”‘Ladley” policies? We all know that. In such a situation, it is a great pleasure that Imran Khan is not in the government at the moment in the sense that if he had been present by the end of 2023, he would have brought more stages of destruction. The existence of Shahbaz Sharif’s government is partly satisfactory in the sense that they have the capacity to rescue but they do not have time. The next election is imminent. And it is clear that those responsible for the catastrophe are still determined that if the Noon League does not get a clear majority in the next election, then they will be free and fair and on time. If the PML-N sees a clear victory then the interim government will be extended. So that the retirees can come to Australia and settle down with satisfaction.
