SHEIKHUPURA: At least four members of a family were killed in the Saddar area of Sheikhupura on Sunday when unidentified assailants barged into and opened fire inside their residence.
Two women, an elderly individual, and a child are among the deceased. The reason behind the crime remains unknown, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted, as mentioned by DPO Zahid Nawaz Marwat. Forensic teams are actively gathering evidence.
Reports indicate that the multiple murders stemmed from animosity following the remarriage of one of the victims. The victims had relocated from another part of the country three years ago.
Law enforcement officials stated that three other family members managed to escape the vicious attack as they were not present at home during the incident. Currently, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case.
In response to the incident, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has instructed DPO Sheikhupura to thoroughly investigate all aspects of the incident and apprehend the perpetrators. Emphasizing the priority of ensuring justice for the affected relatives, he underscored the importance of a swift resolution.
