Four of a family killed in van-truck collision

HAFIZABAD: Four members of a family were killed and five others critically injured as a passenger van collided with a truck near Hafizabad in the wee hours of Saturday.

According to police, a passenger van collided with a truck near Kot Sarwar on Motorway Road. As a result, four members of a family suffered serious injuries and died on the spot, while five others injured in the accident.

The deceased were identified as Aqsa, Khushi, Aqib and Isma. Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured and bodies to nearby hospitals.

Police said the accident occurred due to over speeding. Police also claimed to have arrested the truck driver from the spot.

The injured are being provided with medical treatment, however, two injured were in serious condition, hospital sources said.
