FAISALABAD: Former law minister and senior PML-Q leader Chaudhry Wasi Zafar has passed away at the age of 72.
According to details, the former law minister passed away in Faisalabad. The son of a former law minister has confirmed his father’s death.
Wasi Zafar hailed from the Jaranwala Town of Faisalabad, who was a federal minister under former president and former Army Chief General (retd) Pervez Musharraf. Senior PML-Q leader Chaudhry Wasi Zafar was born on January 12, 1949, in Multan, Punjab.
The reference against former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was filed during his tenure, about which Wasi Zafar said that he did not have his signature on the reference.

Earlier, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz had alleged that the reference against the former chief justice was filed by the law ministry in the light of the summary, but Wasi Zafar denied the allegation. He told the media that the reference was made by an official of the Law Ministry, while any summary without the signature of the Law Minister is illegal.
Earlier, senior politician, former governor, former Sindh chief minister Mumtaz Bhutto passed away at the age of 88. His body was flown to Larkana at 6 pm. Mumtaz Bhutto, a cousin of former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, died in Karachi last month, his spokesman Ibrahim Abro confirmed.
