ISLAMABAD: An international network involved in producing obscene videos of celebrities using artificial intelligence has been busted in Pakistan, officials said.
According to media reports quoting official sources, a total of 114 foreigners allegedly running the network have been arrested on a tip-off. The accused are said to belong to four countries.
Sources stated that a case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PICA). They said the arrested suspects were involved in creating and distributing AI-generated obscene content targeting celebrities.
Officials further said the National Counter Terrorism and Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) team conducted a raid on a private commercial plaza, where the accused were arrested. The suspects allegedly established a private company and built a network used to produce the videos.

Investigators said the FIR indicates that more than two dozen Pakistanis were also involved alongside the foreign accused. All material, including content seized from the foreigners, was taken into custody during the operation.
Following the arrests, the NCCIA informed four foreign embassies about the development. The accused are expected to be produced before a court next week, where authorities will seek remand.
