ISLAMABAD: Two men, impersonating as Capital police officials, robbed a foreign national in the F-6 Supermarket of Islamabad’s diplomatic enclave, local media reported on Monday.
According to the reports, the men, posing as police officers, stopped the Polish woman for a check and seized £500 along with other valuables. The incident occurred at Sector F-6 Super Market in Islamabad where the suspects targeted the foreign woman.
Police have launched an investigation following the complaint.
Earlier this year, a policeman who assaulted a foreign cyclist in Sadiqabad, Pakistan, was suspended. Sadiqabad District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Umar Gondal suspended the assistant sub-inspector involved in the incident and initiated departmental action against him.
DPO Gondal explained that three foreign cyclists had been provided security as per the standard operating procedure when they entered the Sadiqabad Tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan District from Sindh Province. The cyclists, however, insisted they did not want security, leading to a clash with the police officers.
