ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Afghans will continue to play a role in instability in the region, including the peace process.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and the regional situation.
The two foreign ministers decided to continue consultations on regional and bilateral issues, while the Turkish Foreign Minister praised Pakistan’s role in regional peace.
On the occasion, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan would continue to play its role for stability in the region, including the Afghan peace process, while the Turkish President addressed the General Assembly and raised his voice for Kashmiris.

Last month, Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar said the violence on the Pakistan-Afghan border was a conspiracy to derail the Afghan peace process.
The Pakistan Army spokesman said that Pakistan and Afghanistan deserved peace and development. He made it clear that Pakistan and Afghanistan would work together to defeat those who subjugated peace.
