ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been discharged from hospital after recovering from the novel coronavirus.
In a statement, the foreign minister expressed gratitude to all those who sent their wishes and prayed for his recovery. Qureshi said he called off all meetings after showing symptoms and conducted a test without delay which turned out positive.
He added his health condition began improving after his treatment started immediately after the diagnosis and was provided blood plasma of recovered COVID-19 patients.
He thanked Rawalpindi Combined Military Hospital’s (CMH) staff for taking care. He said he has returned home and was feeling better, hoping his second test will be declared negative.
Qureshi said people take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the highly contagious virus. He advised to visit a medical facility if they show any coronavirus symptoms.
Earlier this month, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi confirmed that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The foreign minister said that he underwent the test after a slight fever and had quarantined himself at his home after his test reports for the virus came out positive.
