ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a telephone conversation.
According to the details, caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani is on a visit to Uganda during which Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was contacted. Jalil Abbas Jilani said that the attack on the territory of Pakistan is a serious violation of our sovereignty.
During the call, the caretaker foreign minister said that Pakistan reserves the right to respond to provocations by Iran. The attack on Pakistani soil on January 16 was completely against international law, he said.
Jalil Abbas Jilani said that Iran’s attack on Pakistani soil has severely damaged the relationship between Pakistan and Iran and Pakistan reserves the right to respond to the provocative action. Jilani said that the countries of the region need joint efforts against terrorism. Unilateral actions can threaten regional peace and security. “No country should push the region on this path,” he asserted.
