Five shops, two restaurants sealed over SOPs violation in Karachi

KARACHI: District Administration of the port city has carried out raids in different parts of the metropolis and sealed several businesses for violation of coronavirus-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
On directives of Deputy Commissioner South, three shops and a restaurant were sealed in Clifton Block 2, while Assistant Commissioner Garden sealed two shops and a restaurant for violation of SOPs.
Karachi administration has issued clear instructions in this regard that COVID-19 SOPs should be strictly enforced and action should be taken against those who do not comply with SOPs.
Sindh on Tuesday reported 312 new cases and six deaths by COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement on the coronavirus situation in the province said that 312 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
In a day six more patients of the disease died by the coronavirus in the province, increasing the tally of total deaths by Covid-19 in Sindh to 4,516.
Presently, 5708 Covid-19 patients have been in hospitals, 286 of them in a critical condition and 35 of them on ventilators, CM Shah stated.
Pakistan reported another 3,953 coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours while almost 103 people lost their lives amid an alarming increase in infections across the country.
According to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the coronavirus has claimed 1.3 more lives across the country as the overall death toll reaches 14,924.
The total number of cases recorded in the country ever since the pandemic began has crossed reached 696184, while the positivity rate stood at 8.47 percent. The total count of active cases was recorded at 63,102.
