KARACHI: Police arrested five suspected robbers, including four who were injured, following alleged encounters in different parts of the city on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Weapons and other allegedly stolen items were also recovered from the suspects, police said.
Korangi police arrested an injured suspect after an alleged encounter near Sultan Mosque in Sector 32-B, Nasir Chowki. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Muhammad Saqib alias Chiko, son of Muhammad Saleem.
In a separate incident, Rizvia police apprehended an injured suspect near the Nazimabad No. 1 Bridge. He was identified as 40-year-old Imran Sahil, son of Muhammad Hanif.
Surjani Town police arrested two suspected robbers, including one who was injured, after an alleged encounter in Gulshan-e-Surjani, Block D. The suspects were identified as 20-year-old Sudis, son of Hameedullah Khan, and Mudassar, son of Hukman Gul.
Docks police also arrested an injured suspect following an alleged encounter near Khawaja Gharib Nawaz Mosque in Maripur’s Machhar Colony. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Zia-ur-Rehman, son of Habib-ur-Rehman.
Police said further investigations were under way, and cases had been registered against the arrested suspects.
