FAISALABAD: The police arrested five people and recovered 3000 kites and other material from their possession in Madina Town police station area on Monday.
According to police, receiving information about the kite manufacturer a police team conducted a raid and arrested three shopkeepers, Ehsan, Ashiq Ali and Hussain along with kites.
The police also claimed to have recovered more than 3000 kites and other material from their possession, while further investigation was underway.
It is worth mention here, In 2005, Pakistan’s Supreme Court imposed a ban on the manufacture, trade or even flying of kites.
The court said it was a precautionary measure to prevent the loss of lives since kite strings were sometimes laced with chemicals.
