KARACHI: A 12-year-old student was allegedly sexually assaulted in a private Karachi school located in Surjani Town sector 4, a case registered in the area police station stated.
According to FIR No 978/2022, lodged in Surjani police station, Muhammad Ali s/o Arshad Ali was allegedly made a victim of sexual assault in Iqra United Educational Academy where he is a student of grade 7th.
The First Information Report (FIR) further read that, the boy went to the school on June 9 and during the break time at 10:30, he went to the school canteen where he bought and ate papad which got him painted and at 12 o’clock when he regained consciousness he was in the classroom.
According to the FIR, when the child backed home, he told his mother that he was not feeling well and was in severe pain.
“My son has been raped by giving him drugs, legal action must be taken against it”, the father of the student said.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Khaliq Arain of Surjani Town police station has started an investigation of the incident under sections 337 and 377.
A video has also come to the fore in which the mother of the victim is protesting outside the Iqra United Educational Academy, saying why the school is open during the holidays? and why children are being abused here?
Sources said that the owner of the school started threatening the parents after they registered the case. He also went to their house and harassed them, on which the parents submitted another application in the same police station.
When contacted, Registrar Private Schools Rafeeya Mallah said: “A committee will be constituted and sent to the school on Monday, members of the committee will meet the victim’s parents and others to file a report, and after this legal action will be taken.”
