ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has written a letter to Interpol seeking the extradition of the former Pakistani ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani.
According to details, the government decided to repatriate former ambassador Hussain Haqqani. The FIA has demanded the extradition of Hussein Haqqani from Interpol. The FIA demanded extradition from Interpol and said that the case against Hussain Haqqani would be investigated for which Interpol’s cooperation was required.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said in the text of its letter that the accused Hussain Haqqani is a fugitive from justice. Interpol should issue a red warrant for the accused and hand him over to Pakistan. Earlier, Hussain Haqqani, Pakistan’s former ambassador to Sri Lanka and the United States, was charged with abuse of power, corruption, and fraud.
It should be noted that Pakistan has been receiving complaints from the US as well as the diplomatic staff stationed in Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Imran Khan recently removed the ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Mian Zahid Hussain, president of Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum and All Karachi Industrial Alliance and former provincial minister, said that PM Imran Khan had made the right decision by removing the Pakistani ambassador to Saudi Arabia and his staff.
Former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain said in a statement three months ago that the decision would reduce insults to Pakistanis in embassies and ignore their problems while boosting the confidence of overseas Pakistanis.
Talking to the business community, Mian Zahid Hussain said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has many times declared Pakistanis living abroad as national assets and he takes a personal interest in solving their problems.
