Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has uncovered an alleged human organ trafficking network during a raid on a residence in Islamabad’s F-7/1 sector, leading to the arrest of three Chinese nationals and two Pakistani suspects.
According to the FIA, a raid was carried out at a residence in Sector F-7/1, Islamabad. During the operation, FIA investigators arrested three Chinese citizens and two Pakistani nationals suspected of involvement in human organ trafficking. However, the identities of the detained suspects are being kept confidential.
The statement said that during the search, the FIA recovered various human organs from the house. It is alleged that the Pakistani nationals worked as drivers and suppliers for the Chinese traffickers.
The FIA further said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been exporting placentas to Vietnam. Processed placenta is used in the manufacture of certain medicines. The suspects had allegedly established a network with the assistance of local facilitators.
According to the FIA, the recovered samples have been sent to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital for medical examination.
The FIA added that all suspects have been transferred to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Work on the case is ongoing, and further details will be released later.
