ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has decided against removing the name of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan accepted the cabinet committee’s recommendation to not allow Maryam Nawaz to go abroad. The cabinet would have no objection if Maryam wants to approach another forum.
On 7th December, Maryam Nawaz filed a petition in which she requested the court to direct the federal government to remove her name from no-fly list to enable her to travel abroad where her father and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is seeking medical treatment.

Maryam in her petition requested the court to consider her plea as earlier the LHC directed the government to decide on the removal of her name from the ECL within seven days but it had not yet made any decision in this regard, due to which she is unable to travel abroad.
Yesterday, the Lahore High Court directed the federal government to inform Maryam of any decision on the removal of the name of her from the ECL.
