The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has advised mobile users to enable a free “Balance Save” feature that blocks internet usage once data bundles expire, helping prevent unexpected charges and protect prepaid balance.
The regulator, in a recent statement, said that many consumers unknowingly continue using mobile internet after their data bundles expire. This results in charges at higher pay-as-you-go rates, quickly draining their balance.
To prevent this, telecom providers offer a “Balance Save” or PAYG blocking service that automatically cuts off internet access once a data package runs out.
Users can activate the feature through the following codes:*275# for Jazz, *4004# for Zong, *6611# for Ufone and *342# for Telenor Pakistan.
According to the PTA, enabling this service can help users avoid unexpected charges and keep better control over their mobile spending, as part of its broader efforts to safeguard consumer rights and improve transparency in telecom services.
