His comment came after reports that the 6 hours long meeting of the ruling coalition partners of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) discussed proposal to ban Imran Khan-led PTI following the recent clashes between the party workers and police at Islamabad Judicial Complex and at Zaman Park.
In a statement released to media after the meeting, the ruling PDM said “the meeting expressed serious concerns over the use of trained people of banned outfits to invade institutions and attack them,” a narrative that could be used for introducing a ban on the PTI.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Fawad Chaudhry termed the press release, issued after PDM’s meeting, as ‘ridiculous’ and termed the move of convening joint session of the parliament as ‘attempt to usurp the rights of the masses’.
He said by abrogating the constitution, a group had been imposed upon the country which enjoyed was actually scared of the masses rather than enjoying any value, and which was only maintaining its rule by means of oppression.
